Handcraft book binding

The book Grapheme-Synesthesia was selected at the Parsons Pop Up / Print Shop
 on November 6th, 2015.

Research statement

“I am studying Synesthesia because I want to find out if synesthesia can be cultivated for non-synesthetes
in order to understand how can synesthetic understanding be cultivated.”

 I made a book regarding Grapheme-Synesthesia.
Grapheme- Synesthesia is one of the most common forms of synesthesia that
in which an individual’s perception of numbers and letters is associated with the experience of colors.
The book will contain 26 alphabets that designed in different colors Grapheme-Synesthetes commonly imagine.

There are two books that have same format but different style.
The look and feel will address the preferences of my target audience in indirect experience of Grapheme-Synesthesia.
The book is made out of illustrated typography designs and handcraft book binding technique
And by experiencing Grapheme-Synesthesia, people will find easy to understand and will get more interest about it.

I believe that books have its own physical beauty that make us feel physically attached.
According to Wassily Kandinsky, he believed that color has touch and texture and even scent.
Depends on the medium of paper it can imitate the scent and sense of touching color.
